Hi there, meet Emily and her family, whom I had the privilege of connecting with at the end of 2020. I got to know them at church, and that day, her parents shared the heart-wrenching journey they've been on since Emily was diagnosed with leukemia in 2019. She was just a little 3-year-old girl, and that diagnosis shook their world.
In those challenging times, tears flowed freely, exhaustion seemed never-ending, and the path ahead was a bewildering maze of uncertainty. Witnessing their little one suffer was an unbearable pain that etched itself into their daily existence.
During these moments, I silently prayed and made a promise to give them a gift of encouragement when Emily got better, a family photoshoot. Fast forward to September 2023, after the turbulent journey, I finally had the chance to capture their family's resilience in a series of photographs. However, our time together was more than just a photoshoot, it was an opportunity for them to share the depths of what they had been through. I felt honoured and blessed to listen to their story. I deeply appreciate their big hearts to share with others.
It's amazing how in the dark, they clung to hope and their faith in Jesus. Their journey is a testament to the goodness of God, the power of love, and the hope that never truly fades.
